The enforcement team of the Dehradun regional transport office (RTO) seized several vehicles on Tuesday for operating illegally in the district. The regional transport officer (enforcement) Sandeep Saini informed that two unauthorised buses were seized at the Asharodi checkpost and one bus was seized at the Kalsi-Dehradun route.
Three taxis of other states were also seized at a petrol pump in Malsi for the violation of all India permit conditions. Saini said that when the teams were seizing the taxes, some taxis nearby the petrol pump fled from the scene. He said that such taxis from other states take passengers from Dehradun to Delhi violating several rules. “We have identified such petrol pumps where such taxis are spotted the most which are located in Sahastradhara Road, Race Course and ISBT,” stated Saini. He also informed that one private vehicle was also seized at Bhadrakali Char Dham Yatra Checkpost for being operated as a commercial vehicle.
Saini said that new interceptors have also been deployed by the department in Uttarkashi, Rishikesh, Rudraprayag and Karnprayag for the Char Dham Yatra duration to ensure the strict enforcement of rules across the state.
