In latest news from Doon, with the online/offline booking for the Char Dham having launched in February, the hotels/guest houses owned by the Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GMVN) have received booking orders worth Rs 4.5 crore. GMVN officers said that the booking amount would increase in the coming days.  Speaking on the matter, the assistant general manager GMVN Rakesh Saklani said that the figures cited pertain to online/offline booking for guest houses/hotels only, adding that things are equally good on the front of pilgrims opting for GMVN tour/pilgrimage packages.

Meanwhile, a GMVN team is all set to start for Kedarnath from Dehradun on April 2 to take stock of the preparations being carried out for the upcoming pilgrimage season to the shrine scheduled to commence on May 10.
