Maharaj thanks CM for Mahasu & Jageshwar temples development plan

These temples would be developed on the lines of Badrinath and Kedarnath shrines

Uttarakhand tourism minister Satpal Maharaj has welcomed the State Government’s decision of developing Mahasu temple of Jaunsar Bawar and Jageshwar temple of Almora on the lines of Badrinath and Kedarnath shrines. He also expressed his gratitude to the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and fellow cabinet ministers for the decision. He said that the government’s decision to make a master plan for the development of both temples will also generate various employment opportunities for locals besides the development of nearby areas. This decision taken in the recent cabinet meeting has been loved and welcomed by lakhs of devotees which will also boost tourism in these areas, said Maharaj. The tourism minister had talked about preparing a master plan for the development of Hanoi situated Mahasu Temple of Jaunsar Bawar in the line of Badrinath and Kedarnath shrines in the two-day Jagada Mahotsav held in August this year. He had also talked about giving the two-day festival as a status of State Fair as it is quite popular among devotees across the world. According to the officials, more than 28 lakh people searched Jagada Mahotsav on Google during this two-day festival while seven crore people from a total of 128 countries watched it live online. Maharaj said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also talked about the significance of Mahasu Devta in Mann Ki Baat considering which, the government has taken this historical decision of making a master plan for its development.
