Considering the overflowing garbage bins in various parts of Haldwani, the Kumaon commissioner Deepak Rawat directed the Municipal Corporation of Haldwani (MCH) to make the city free of garbage bins. He said that heaps of garbage can be observed in various parts of the city and the corporation must take effective measures to minimise the garbage accumulation at public places. Rawat asked the corporation’s sanitation team to focus on improving door to door garbage collection service across the city. He said that improving the collection of garbage from the source will minimise the chances of it getting dumped in garbage bins or at public places. The door to door garbage collection from residential and non-residential areas will drastically improve the sanitation condition of the city. He said that the corporation should start working level by level to remove garbage bins from public places while continuing to improve garbage collection in the city.
