Have fulfilled more than 85 % works in 2017 vision document: CM

11,000 kms of roads built in past three years and 10 months in U’khand

The State government will complete four years in office on March 18. Stating this, the chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said that the state government has executed more than 85 per cent of the works listed in the party’s vision document of 2017. The CM said this at a programme in Miyawala area of Dehradun where he inaugurated and unveiling the foundation stones of various development works amounting to about Rs 50 crore on Sunday.

Rawat said that the state government is fulfilling the promises made to the people. He stressed that the state government is committed to fulfil the expectations and aspirations of the public. While the majority of works listed in the 2017 vision document have been executed, the work being undertaken on various announcements is also being regularly monitored. Work on majority of the announcements has been completed with special focus being laid on the development of roads, he said. More roads have been made in Uttarakhand under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in the past three years and 10 months than were made in the past 17 years. About 11,000 kilometres of roads were made during this period. Rawat further said that water connection is being provided in rural areas for only Re one each with six lakh water connections having being given in rural areas so far. The government is working towards meeting the target of ensuring water connection for all by 2022. The poor in urban areas will be provided water connection for Rs 100 each, he said, while thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for starting the Jal Jeevan mission in urban areas also.

The CM pointed out that Uttarakhand has become the first state to take the decision of granting rights to women in the paternal property of their husbands. While women will not face problems in securing bank loans due to this this decision, it will also bring about considerable change in society in the future. He said, “When I was the Agriculture minister in 2008, I had met Vishveshwari Devi in Chamoli district. She had told me that women should also get rights in the property of their husbands. This issue had been on my mind since then.”

Referring to steps taken by the government for institutional reforms, the CM said that the state government had recently been awarded for its e-cabinet initiative. At present about 150 offices in the state are on the e-office system. The assembly in the summer capital Gairsain is also being made into an e-Vidhan Sabha. The CM also spoke about the various development works executed and planned works of the state government.

The local MLA Umesh Sharma ‘Kau’, Dehradun mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama and others were also present on the occasion.
