Day & night temperature variation continues in plains

The weather in the plains of Uttarakhand continues to exhibit considerable variance from day to night. While the days are sunny and comparatively warm, the temperature drops and the chill returns during the night. Such is the variance that there is a difference of about 16 degrees Celsius between the maximum and minimum temperature in the provisional state capital Dehradun. The mountainous regions are experiencing cold weather throughout the day though clear skies provide some relief to the people.

The State meteorological centre has forecast the likelihood of dry weather in the districts of the State on Monday. The provisional state capital Dehradun is forecast to experience mainly clear skies with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be about 24 degrees Celsius and seven degrees Celsius respectively on Monday. Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various places across the state on Sunday were 23.6 degrees Celsius and 7.5 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 23.8 degrees Celsius and 8.5 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 13 degrees Celsius and 0.1 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 12.2 degrees Celsius and three degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
