Police setting up defence forces help desk in each district

Saturday, 26 March 2022 | PNS | Dehradun

On the directions of the Uttarakhand director general of police Ashok Kumar, defence forces help desk is being established for resolving complaints of the jawans of army and paramilitary forces, and their family members. This help desk is being formed in police offices in all the districts to assist the personnel of army, paramilitary forces and their family members. The help desk staff will keep details of the complaints made by the uniformed personnel and their family members at police stations, office of the circle officer, superintendent of police, dial 112 and other levels along with the action taken on the same. The police in-charge of the district will review these on a monthly basis.

The DGP said that a considerable number of people from Uttarakhand are serving in the Indian army and paramilitary forces. “These jawans from Uttarakhand discharge their duties away from their families in border areas and remote regions. Considering this, defence forces help desk are being established in all the districts to ensure necessary action on priority basis in cases related to the army and paramilitary personnel and their families. The swift redressal of their complaints will be ensured through the help desk and the same will be monitored from the headquarter level,” said Kumar.
