In latest news from Uttarakhand, a professor of the commerce department of the Haldwani-based MBPG College has been attached to Berinag Degree College for allegedly taking classes in inebriated state. Following medical examination of the professor, the action against him was taken by the director higher education C D Suntha on the basis of the report sent by the principal of the institute. Speaking on the matter, the principal N S Bankoti said that the professor would come to the college in drunken state to the distress of the students. He further said that the college authorities had sent him notice thrice on this matter warning him of action if he did not mend his ways. However, he had chosen to ignore the notice, the principal said and added that finally, he had been sent to the Base Hospital for medical examination along with some teachers whose report confirmed his drunken state.
