BJP questions why Rawat silent on MLAs who wrote to speaker

Bharatiya Janata Party State president Mahendra Bhatt said that the demonstration staged by former chief minister and Congress leader Harish Rawat demanding an Assembly session in Gairsain is a drama. He questioned why Rawat is silent on the Congress MLAs who wrote to the Assembly speaker supporting the demand for the session to be held in Dehradun.

Stating that the Pradesh Congress Committee president had spoken of action against the party MLAs who wrote to the speaker, Bhatt said that on the one hand Congress MLAs demanded that the session be held in Dehradun while on the other hand Rawat is staging a protest against the decision. Instead of remaining silent, Rawat should question the Congress MLAs, he said.

“The Congress needs to raise public interest issues. It will not gain anything from grabbing headlines or pretending to be concerned about public issues,” Bhatt said.
