Pilgrims from around the world appreciate facilities at Rishikesh transit camp

Pilgrims from across the country and abroad have acknowledged the facilities provided at the Rishikesh-based transit camp, appreciating the efforts of the government and the Yatra administration. The camp provides registration services, medical checkups and free meals. Separate counters have been set up for the registration of foreign nationals, Rishikesh municipal commissioner Shailendra Negi said.
Citing some examples of pilgrims’ feedback, Negi said that a resident of the United Kingdom, Thomas, reached the transit camp on June 4 to register for the Char Dham Yatra. He expressed satisfaction with the registration process and the availability of travel-related information. Earlier, a group of 17 people from Taiwan arrived at the camp on May 30 to visit Gangotri and Yamunotri. Some members of the group were over 60-years -old and appreciated the medical checkup facility available at the registration centre in Rishikesh, he added. Similarly, Rahul and Tushar from Russia visited Badrinath on May 19. Rituraj Kalra from Canada and Ravinder Bhatti from the United States of America also visited Badrinath and appreciated the separate registration arrangements for foreign citizens. They also acknowledged the cleanliness and behaviour of the local administration. The USA residents Kulesh Karan and Devisha Kulesh Karan also visited Gangotri and Badrinath and expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Yatra administration. Negi informed that 8,486 foreign pilgrims have registered at the Rishikesh transit camp so far.
He said that registration is being conducted at the camp through 24 counters operating in three shifts throughout the day and night. Thirty-five mobile teams are assisting in registration and six counters are functioning at ISBT Rishikesh. Negi said that 11,000 pilgrims have received treatment at the hospital in the camp so far.
