People to re-elect BJP considering range of development works- Dhami

Wednesday, 19 January 2022 | PNS | Dehradun

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stressed that the public will elect Bharatiya Janata Party candidates from more than 60 seats considering the development works worth Rs 1.5 lakh crore undertaken in Uttarakhand with the help of the central government and the development works executed by the state government. He said this while addressing a virtual meet organised by the BJP on Tuesday.

Citing the achievements of the double-engine government, Dhami said that the opposition which did not execute any major work during its term in office is now unsuccessfully trying to trick the people.

Keeping the main focus of his address on development works, Dhami said that the centre and state together had laid a network of roads in Uttarakhand, be it the Char Dham all weather road, Bharatmala road project or the route to Kailash Mansarovar via Lipulekh. All routes to Delhi from Dehradun, Haldwani and the districts have been made more accessible and the distances have also been decreased. The CM referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi approving schemes worth more than Rs 400 crore for Kedarnath and Rs 250 crore provision for Badrinath after drafting of a masterplan. The Dehradun airport is also being upgraded and made into an international airport soon. The BJP government has also worked to improve air connectivity in Pantnagar, Pithoragarh, Gauchar, Uttarkashi and other places. Referring to the Atal Ayushman Yojana, Dhami said that about four lakh people had benefitted from this scheme in the state so far.

The CM further said that he had executed more than 500 decisions so far. “We believe that the people of Uttarakhand will once again elect us with a thumping majority to enable us to make this Uttarakhand’s decade before the silver jubilee of the state’s foundation in 2025,” said Dhami.

In his addres, the BJP state president Madan Kaushik questioned both the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party while also accusing the AAP of shielding those guilty of murdering Uttarakhand natives in the Delhi riots.

He said that the Congress is asking the people to give it a chance whereas it had been given ample chances at the centre and state. However, their intention was questionable which is why they did nothing on their own nor let the central government under PM Modi provide help. He motivated the party workers stating that with only virtuall rallies possible amidst Covid, they should also ensure that the message of the party reaches the people.

The party’s state general secretary (organisation) Ajey Kumar asked the party workers to observe Covid protocol and work for the party in the Assembly elections while also being concerned about their health and the health of those they come in contact with.
