The Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) of the Education department of Uttarakhand has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Pari foundation. Under the initiative, the Pari foundation would help in areas of emotional wellness, stress management, building up self esteem, improving communication and building confidence in the children of the government schools of the State.
Noted Psychologist and head of the Pari foundation Dr Sona Kaushal said that the objective is to empower the children of the government schools. The foundation would also encourage the children to ‘saying No’ to the social media addictions and drugs. Dr Sona Kaushal has started taking online classes of the students under the initiative and in the initial classes she is making the students aware about peer pressure and its hazards. “We will be taking fortnight sessions and building up our children’s emotional quotient,’’ she said.
