Garbage was dumped outside the home and shop of a trader fraternity leader after he questioned the Presidential award to be presented to the Municipal Corporation of Haridwar under the Ganga City category. Sunil Sethi opined on social media and through other means that the MCH had failed in ensuring necessary arrangements and questioned the grounds for the award. On Thursday morning, sanitation workers allegedly dumped garbage outside this home and shop. Following this, shopkeepers of the locality, municipal councillors and even the police reached the site.
Sethi said that he had not questioned the work of the sanitation workers but had questioned the system. He alleged that the mayor and her husband had instigated the sanitation workers against him. The trader further said that he had expressed his regret to the sanitation workers. The matter was reportedly resolved later in the day.
