The association threatens to start agitation if their salary deduction continues

After doctors and nurses, the ANMs too have become vocal against deduction in their salary. The association of ANMs, the Matri Sishu Pariwar Kalyan Mahila Karmchari Sangh has demanded that the government should stop deduction of one day’s salary in their remuneration. A delegation of the association would soon meet the chief minister, secretary health and director general (DG) state health services in this regard. The president of the association, Guddi Matura said that the female health workers are putting their lives under risk and working tirelessly during the Covid-19 pandemic. She said that ANMs are doing both indoor and field duties and working in immunisation and pulse polio campaigns without the protective kits. In such conditions it is inhuman to deduct the salary of these workers. Matura said that the Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has assured the doctors and nurses that there would be no deduction in their salaries which is appreciable. She demanded that salary deduction of all employees of health department should be stopped and there should be no discrimination among the health workers in this regard.

The association has threatened that it would be forced to start an agitation if the salary deduction decision is not taken back.Meanwhile the association of lab technicians which had threatened to boycott work from October 1 in support of their three point demand has decided to suspend its agitation after positive assurance from director general (DG) state health services.
