Motherhood University holds workshop on SWM

The Motherhood University organised a two-day workshop on solid waste management. Presiding over the event, the university vice chancellor Narendra Sharma said that with rising population, solid waste is increasingly becoming a part of the environment. Gurukul Kangri Vishwavidyalaya vice chancellor Roop Kishore Shastri said that considering the major problem which solid waste has become, its proper management is vital also to prevent contamination of groundwater. Kalyan Singh Rawat of the Maiti movement spoke in detail about the growing problem of solid waste in the Himalayan region. He stressed on the need for awareness and effective action to tackle the problem. The university’s department of science head, Abhishek Swami, university registrar NK Yadav, director (Academics) Vinay Kumar Singh and others were also present on the occasion.
