More Congress leaders to join BJP by 2027 Assembly elections, predicts Bhatt

The Bharatiya Janata Party has claimed that some prominent and strong leaders of the Congress will join the party by the 2027 Uttarakhand Assembly elections. The BJP State president and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt said that Congress is in decline because most of its leaders are no longer politically relevant. He stated during a media interaction on Monday that those capable of performing have already joined the BJP and the few remaining leaders will also shift sides before the next Assembly polls. Bhatt stated that BJP aims to field its own workers in all Gram Pradhan and block development committee (BDC) members’ positions in the upcoming Panchayat elections and is confident of winning all district Panchayat chairperson posts. He stated that both the government and party organisation are fully prepared and if conditions are favourable, elections may be held in July. The party strategy and election teams are ready and will be announced as soon as the dates are declared. Observers will be deployed across regions to manage the campaign, he added. Bhatt also extended congratulations to citizens on behalf of the BJP for the completion of 11 years of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Central government. He said that Modi has consistently shared performance reports with the public each year and this year a national campaign will begin in Uttarakhand with a Press conference by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The campaign will include Press conferences at district centres on June 11 and 12, followed by public meetings, exhibitions, intellectual conferences and competitions to highlight the government’s achievements. On the Congress-led Beti Bachao campaign, Bhatt said the BJP government takes strict and unbiased action in all criminal cases, especially those involving women. He alleged that past Congress governments protected the guilty and failed to deliver justice. He said BJP does not differentiate between insiders and outsiders when enforcing the law. Bhatt added that internal conflicts in the Congress will not help the party recover and predicted a strong BJP majority in the 2027 Assembly elections.
