STF gears up to confiscate assets of accused in UKSSSC recruitment exam leak case

The Uttarakhand State Task Force (STF) will confiscate the illegally acquired assets worth Rs 10.27 crore of Chandan Singh Manral, one of the main accused in the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) graduate level recruitment exam leak case. The STF has also started proceedings to seize the illegal assets of another accused Ankit Ramola, a close accomplice of the main accused in the case, Hakam Singh.
The senior superintendent of police of STF, Ayush Agrawal informed on Thursday that 24 accused in the UKSSC paper leak case are being investigated under the Gangster Act under which, STF is taking action to seize their movable and immovable properties. He said that the STF has recently sent detailed assessment reports of the properties of two other accused in the case- Chandan Singh Manral and Ankit Ramola to the Dehradun district magistrate Sonika as per the proceedings to analyse the report to take further action. He said that Manral has collected assets worth over Rs 10 crore by allegedly conducting several scams in recruitment exams since 2015. He said that another accused Ramola, allegedly a close accomplice of Hakam Singh has collected assets worth Rs 40 lakh through the UKSSSC scam.
Besides this, he also has Rs 15 lakh in his various bank accounts which have been frozen by STF. Agrawal said that STF had already sent a property assessment report of accused Hakam Singh to the DM as part of confiscation proceedings of his illegally earned property. He said that there is a provision for confiscation of the illegal property of the accused persons by the DM under Section 14 of the Gangster Act. Further action will be taken after the DM’s final analysis of the reports. He said that the STF will soon complete the proceedings of assessing the assets of the remaining accused in the case. He said that effective lobbying is being done in the court by STF in the case to ensure all culprits are brought to justice. He also appealed to the public to approach STF if they have any information regarding the case.
