Health department to initiate drive to fill vacant posts

The State Health department will soon undertake a drive to recruit personnel to the vacant posts in the State health services. Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat has directed that the posts in different categories lying vacant for a long period should be filled. He said that the many assistant professors selected by the Uttarakhand Medical Services Recruitment Board for the government medical colleges have not joined their duties due to which many posts are still vacant. Rawat directed that the department should send a list of such posts to the UMSRB so that the candidates in the waiting list are given appointments. The minister said that recruitment of 200 doctors on contract will be done in the health department. He added that the appointment of ward boys, Asha workers and ANMs will be done at the district level. Rawat said that in order to strengthen the health service and make them accessible the appointments on 100 per cent posts of specialist doctors, medical officers, pharmacists, nursing , paramedical and technical staff should be done.
