Party leaders would undertake 75 km long Yatras from Aug 9 to 15 in all districts

The Uttarakhand Congress would organise a ‘Bharat Jodo Tiranga Yatra’ in all parts of the State from August 9 to 15. The Congress party had given a call for the Yatra during its Udaipur convention held earlier this year. The programme would be organised to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the independence of the country. On Saturday, a meeting of senior leaders of the party chaired by the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara was organised at the state headquarters of the party. In the meeting detailed discussion on the Yatra was held. It is proposed that the Congress leaders would undertake  75 kilometres long Yatras in all the districts of the state.

The convenor of the Tiranga Yatra, Govind Singh Kunjwal said that all the leaders of the party would hold meetings in the districts before July 27 to chart out the route and make other preparations for the Yatra. He said that the district units have been asked to send the list of the leaders who would remain present in the Yatra on all seven days. Former Chief Minister Harish Rawat attended the meeting virtually while former PCC presidents Pritam Singh and Ganesh Godiyal and leader of opposition (LoP) Yashpal Arya were also present in the meeting.
