Light rain likely in mountainous districts today

Various parts of the State experienced a warm day while the minimum temperature in Dehradun and other parts of the State was recorded at a few notches below normal on Monday. The plains in the State are experiencing warmer days and cool nights. The State meteorological centre has forecast that the weather may take a turn in some parts with light rain forecast in some mountainous regions on Tuesday.

According to the meteorological centre, very light to light rain is likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Pithoragarh districts on Tuesday. Dry weather is likely to prevail in the remaining districts of the State today.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience a mainly clear sky. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 30 degrees Celsius and 13 degrees Celsius respectively today. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded on Monday were 29.6 degrees Celsius and 12.8 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 30.1 degrees Celsius and 10.5 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 19 degrees Celsius and 7.5 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 21.2 degrees Celsius and 8.5 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. The minimum temperature was a degree below normal in Dehradun, two degrees below normal in Pantnagar and two degrees below normal in New Tehri. Very light rain was reported in some mountainous regions of the State on Monday.
