In keeping with trends being adopted during the Covid-19 pandemic, Himalayan Buzz organised an online pageant. The grand finale of ‘Mr and Miss Dehradun 2020’ was held in accordance with all the Covid-19 guidelines. Tanishq Rai won the title of Mr Dehradun 2020 while Swati Juyal was crowned Miss Dehradun 2020. The first runners up positions were bagged by Riya Aswal and Tamandeep Chawla while Mahima Negi and Asad stood second runners up.
The auditions and other rounds of the pageant were conducted on a virtual platform. A total of 14 contestants from Dehradun took part in the pageant. The director of Himalayan Buzz, Gauravesh Singh said, “The whole world is moving to a virtual space. From films getting direct digital releases to education being shifted to e-learning, the pandemic has led everyone to connect with each other online. So I felt it makes sense to even host a beauty pageant virtually.”
