After a period of comparatively dry and sunny days, many parts in seven districts of the state are forecast to experience rain and snowfall today. According to the state meteorological centre, light to moderate rain/snowfall is likely to occur at many places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Pithoragarh districts while very light to light rain/snowfall is likely to occur at a few places in Bageshwar, Rudraprayag, Dehradun and Tehri districts on Wednesday. While snowfall is likely in places situated at altitudes of 3,000 metres and above, dry weather is likely to prevail in the remaining districts of the state.
The provisional state capital Dehradun is forecast to experience mainly clear sky becoming partly cloudy towards afternoon/evening. Light rain/thundershowers are likely to occur towards night. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 21 degrees Celsius and six degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various places on Tuesday were 20.8 degrees Celsius and 6.2 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 18.4 degrees Celsius and 5.2 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 10.8 degrees Celsius and 0.1 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 11.4 degrees Celsius and 3.8 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
