Heavy to very heavy rain alert issue for State

Inclement weather likely to continue in various parts for some more days

The spell of inclement weather is likely to continue in the State for some more days. The State meteorological centre has issued an alert regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in the State today. Further, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and intense/very intense spells are likely to occur at isolated places in the State on Monday. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at most places in the districts of the State today. According to information from the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC), heavy to very heavy rain/thunderstorms/lightning with intense to very intense spells are likely in parts of the state till July 18 while thunderstorms/lightning/intense to very intense spells are likely in parts of the State from July 19 to 20.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness partly to generally cloudy skies on Monday. Few spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur, which may be intense in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 32 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Sunday were 32.9 degrees Celsius and 24.6 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 35 degrees Celsius and 25.9 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 21.7 degrees Celsius and 15.9 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 26.1 degrees Celsius and 17.3 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
