Maximum temperature drops in various regions following widespread rain

After a day of widespread rain in Uttarakhand, the State meteorological centre has once again issued an alert regarding the possibility of heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Pithoragarh and Bageshwar districts on Sunday. Apart from this, light to moderate rainfall/thunderstorms are likely to occur at many places in the districts with intense showers at isolated places in the mountainous regions today.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience partly to generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rainfall/thundershowers likely to occur which may be intense in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 28 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.

Meanwhile, Dehradun witnessed intermittent rain throughout the day on the weekend with 54 millimetres rainfall being recorded between 8:30 AM and 5:30 PM. Similarly, there was 53 millimetres rainfall in Lansdowne, 44 millimetres in Pantnagar, 38.5 millimetres in Dunda, 35 millimetres in Rikhnikhal, 34 millimetres in Haldwani, 32 millimetresin Badkot and 31 millimetres in Bhagwanpur. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Saturday were 26.5 degrees Celsius and 23.4 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 30.5 degrees Celsius and 24.4 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 19.7 degrees Celsius and 16.1 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 20.6 degrees Celsius and 18.2 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
