Health Dept to enroll 1 lakh blood donors

Sewa fortnight & Aysuhman Bhava programmes to start on PM’s birthday 

The State Health department will observe a ‘Sewa fortnight’ from September 17 (Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday) to October 2 (Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary) in which a massive campaign to motivate people for voluntary blood donation will be held.

The Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that apart from blood donation, people will be encouraged for organ donation in the programme. Sanitation campaigns will also be organised in the urban and rural areas of the State. He said that registration of one lakh people on the e- rakt portal will be done during the campaign. Rawat added that the members of parliament, MLAs, district Panchayat presidents, block Pramukhs and other public representatives will attend the programme.

The minister said that an ‘Ayushman Bhava’ programme will be organised from September 17 to 31 in the State. The programme will be held under the aegis of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and under it ‘ Swasthya Chaupals’ will be organised in all the villages of the State and in all the wards in the urban areas.  Digital health IDs and Ayushman cards of the eligible population will be made in these events. Rawat said that the village where health IDs of 100 per cent population are made will be declared as Ayushman Gram. The minister informed that Ayushman fairs will be organised in the health and wellness centres, community health centres and sub district hospitals in the State in which free check-ups for 10 non-communicable diseases will be done.
