PM Modi has gifted world’s biggest health scheme ‘Ayushman Bharat Yojana’ to the country- Dhami

To mark three years of Ayushman Bharat Yojana (ABY), chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced that no fee would be charged for making the Ayushman cards in the state. He also set up a time frame of seven days for claim settlement of the hospitals under the scheme. Dhami was speaking at a programme organised to commemorate three years of commencement of the health scheme in the state. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has gifted world’s biggest health scheme ‘Ayushman Bharat Yojana’ to the country. He said that the general public is getting directly benefited from the scheme. The CM said that the Uttarakhand government has covered all the families of the state under the Atal Ayushman Uttarakhand Yojana (AAUY). He said that a total of 3.5 lakh people have so far received treatment under the scheme and sum of Rs 460 Crore has been spent on it. Dhami said that the scheme has proved to be blessing for the poor who were unable to bear the expense of treatment.

In his address the health minister Dhan Singh Rawat invited the private players to open hospitals in the mountainous areas of the state and assured that the state government would provide financial and other help to the entrepreneurs for it. He said that a total of 102 government and 113 private hospitals are empanelled under the scheme. Appreciating the State Health Agency (SHA) for successfully implementing the ABY and AAUY in the state the minister opined that awareness campaign should be launched for the scheme. He directed that display boards regarding the scheme should be placed in every empanelled hospital. Rawat said that the state government is working on a plan which would make it compulsory for all the private hospitals to be in the panel of these schemes. He said that camps at block level would be organised to bring all the left out families under the scheme.

An interactive session was also organised on the occasion in which the representatives of the hospitals, media personalities and the beneficiaries participated. The MLA of Dharampur Vinod Chamoli, Dehradun Mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’, chairman of SHA D K Kotia, Secretary Health, Amit Singh Negi, Pankaj Pandey, CEO SHA Arunendra Singh Chauhan and others were present on the occasion.
