CM issues various directions to step up efforts across State

The Dehradun district magistrate informed Prime Minister Narendra Modi about various steps taken in the district to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic. The district magistrate Ashish Kumar Srivastava provided this information during a video conference chaired by the PM with 46 district magistrates and commissioners of 10 states regarding Covid on Tuesday. The chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat also attended this video conference virtually from the secretariat.

In the meeting the Prime Minister sought feedback from all the district magistrates along with suggestions for preventing the spread of Covid-19 in the future.The Dehradun district magistrate informed PM Modi about various measures undertaken by the state government in Dehradun district including community surveillance, decentralisation of Covid testing, provision of home isolation kit and facilitation of telemedicine service. The Union Home minister Amit Shah, chief ministers and officials of various states, chief secretary Om Prakash and Health secretary Amit Singh Negi were also among those present in the meeting.

After the video conference, the chief minister directed officials to prepare more micro level plans for checking the infection in the state. He stressed that testing should be maximised. Rawat further directed that committees should be formed at all levels from Vidhan Sabha constituency to Gram Panchayat through public representatives. The chief minister further said that along with the vaccination of youths, a separate plan should be prepared for the vaccination of the differently abled across the state. Apart from this, the chief minister said that considering the challenge to be posed by the monsoon in the near future, arrangements should be made now for ensuring electricity supply and other important facilities in all hospitals and Covid care centres in the state so that problems can be resolved on time.
