With the declaration of results of the Uttarakhand Vidhyalayi Shiksha Parishad (UVSP), the process of admission in the undergraduate courses in the universities and colleges of the State has started. The State administration has made it clear that all the activities in the institutes of higher education in the State will be done as per the academic calendar. As per the calendar, the ‘Samarth portal’ will remain open for registration for admissions in the first semester of the undergraduate courses in the colleges and universities of the State till May 31.
The secretary higher education Shailesh Bagoli said that the process of counselling of the registered students for admissions will be done from June 1 to June 20. The students can register in the Samarth portal by their mobile number and mail id. An academic account of the students will be opened on the basis of their mail id. The students can submit their examination form, feedback through this academic account and they can receive their digital mark sheets in this account.
Students will have to deposit the registration fee of fifty rupees online through Samarth portal. After this, the candidate will be able to apply for admission in ten colleges of his/ her choice simultaneously.
The higher education minister Dhan Singh Rawat told The Pioneer that an academic calendar has been prepared for the colleges and universities of the State and directions have been given for its strict adherence. He said that the practice of ‘one admission, one examination, one election and one convocation’ is being successfully followed in the universities and colleges which have streamlined the academic session and improved the academic environment in the colleges and universities.
