Terming the anti encroachment drive started by the state government in Dehradun as an eyewash, The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Pritam Singh has said that it is the responsibility of the government that the objective for which the demolition is carried out, is fulfilled. Talking to the media persons at the state headquarters of the Congress party on Tuesday, Singh said that after the drive the administration goes into sleeping mode which results in re-encroachment. He said that after earmarking and demolishing any unauthorised structure, it is the duty of the administration to protect the area but it is not the case in Uttarakhand.

Launching an attack on the state government, the PCC president said that in the assembly elections of 2017, BJP had assured the youth that it would provide jobs to them if a double engine government is formed in the state. He claimed that in more than three and half years of its rule in the state the BJP government has failed to provide any employment. On the governance in the state, the PCC chief alleged that the CM takes no decision on his own and does whatever the officers ask him to do. He said that there are differences between CM and ministers and there is no coordination between government and administration in Uttarakhand.
