Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (GBPUAT) signed two memorandums of understanding (MoUs) on Monday. The first MoU was signed with Uttarakhand Open University while the second was signed with Bengaluru-based Nexticron Technologies Pvt Ltd.
The first MoU was signed by the vice- chancellor of Pantnagar University, Manmohan Singh Chauhan and the vice-chancellor of Uttarakhand Open University, O P S Negi. On this occasion, the registrar of Uttarakhand Open University, Hem Raj Bhatt highlighted the importance and objective of the MoU.
Hailing the second MoU, Chauhan said that universities must be at the forefront of emerging technologies and foster an entrepreneurial mind-set among students to meet India’s self-reliance goals. The dean of the College of Technology, S S Gupta underlined the strategic importance of the semiconductor industry and the critical role of start-ups in supplying highly skilled workforce to domestic fabs and design houses.
