As part of the operation being undertaken on the directions of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami against illegally constructed religious structures, the Corbett tiger reserve authorities identified and demolished four such structures from the forest area on Sunday.

According to Corbett officials, the team formed in the tiger reserve’s Bijrani range identified religious structures built illegally on forest land and demolished four such structures. The sites where such structures were demolished have been restored to their natural forms, said officials.

The officials further said that any such illegal religious structures will not be tolerated in the tiger reserve, adding that such action will continue in the future. It is pertinent to mention here that the chief minister had recently directed the State government machinery to identify and demolish religious structures built illegally on public land in different parts of the State, adding that land jihad will not be tolerated in Uttarakhand.
