Flyers of 3 Himalayan plants released

The fellow of National Academy of Sciences and former director of Himalayan Forest Research Institute, S S Samant and the head the Botany department of GBPUAT, Preeti Chaturvedi along with the director, Ministry of External Affairs, Saurabh Joshi jointly released the flyers related to three plants issued under the programme sponsored by IERP of GBP National Institute of Himalayan Technology, Almora.
Notably, these plants come under the category of IUCN.
In the presented flyer, their introduction, classification and botanical description along with phytochemistry, distribution, ethnobotany and methods of conservation have been described. An appeal has also been made for conservation of these plants. On this occasion, Samant said that these plants have medicinal properties. Besides, these could be used as fuel, shelter and timber, he added. Chaturvedi stressed on the conservation of these immensely beneficial plants. Joshi said that these flyers provide important information about these plants to the students and importance of their conservation.
