First Hemkund pilgrim batch to depart on May 19

The portals of Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara are slated to be reopened to the public on May 22. The first batch of pilgrims headed by Panj Pyare will leave Rishikesh for Hemkund Sahib on May 19.

The Hemkund Sahib Management Trust has started preparations for reopening of the Gurudwara. The vice chairman of the trust, Narendrajeet Singh Bindra said that the Uttarakhand governor lieutenant general (retd) Gurmit Singh and chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will felicitate the Panj Pyare and flag off the first batch of pilgrims to the Gurudwara from Rishikesh. Cabinet ministers Subodh Uniyal, Prem Chand Agrawal and Rishikesh mayor Anita Mamgain will also be present on the occasion.
