Expedite Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail project works: CS

Chief secretary Om Prakash chaired a meeting between the Rail Vikas Nigam Limited and State government regarding the Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail line project here on Thursday. The chief secretary directed that the disbursal of compensation for the rail line project should be completed soon. He also directed the district magistrates concerned to take necessary action soon for declaring the project area as restricted area.

He also directed PTCUL to soon establish a new dedicated 132 KV electricity line at Rishikesh, Ranihat (Srinagar) and Sivai (Karnprayag). The CS further directed the UPCL to soon transfer the high tension and low tension power lines. At the same time, the work of providing 33 KV new connections at various places between Rishikesh and Gauchar should be completed soon, he said. The officials of Jal Sansthan and minor irrigation department were also directed to soon transfer water pipelines and water lift pumps.

Earlier, the CS also sought information from the DMs concerned regarding the progress of the Char Dham Yatra road project. He directed the officials to expedite the process of disbursal of compensation to the project affected people. The DMs concerned were also directed to ensure timely completion of all stages of this project.
