The Bharatiya Janata Party is a cadre-based party and any leader’s entry in or exit from the party does not make a big difference. The BJP is going to fulfill its target of winning more than 60 seats in the ensuing Assembly election on the strength of such party workers with nationalistic thinking and the will to work for society. Former union minister, ex-chief minister and Haridwar MP Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ said this while interacting with the media on the day after former cabinet minister Harak Singh Rawat’s expulsion from the BJP for six years.

Responding to queries he said, “Every worker is respected in the BJP and as in other parties, it is not possible here for three members of the same family to be given the party ticket to contest the election while ignoring the party workers.” Nishank said that rumours are being spread through social media and other means that three other BJP MLAs are to join the Congress which is not correct. He said that he had talked to Raipur MLA Umesh Sharma ‘Kau’, Roorkee MLA Pradeep Batra and Khanpur MLA Pranav Singh ‘Champion’ and all of them had stressed that they are and will remain in the BJP.

Targetting the Congress, he said that it indulges in negative politics due to which it was being rejected across the nation. “In Uttarakhand too, instead of fighting for public issues, the Congress is busy with infighting. On the other hand, the BJP is approaching the public with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision and development works of the state government. We are confident that the people will elect the BJP from more seats than in the previous election,” he said. The BJP State spokesman Suresh Joshi, state media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan, Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee chairman Ajendra Ajay and others were also present on the occasion.
