The son of a deputy superintendent of police posted in Moradabad allegedly murdered his mother at their Dehradun residence on Saturday. The accused man is reported to be mentally affected. According to the police, Malkhan Singh, who is posted as the DSP (Ministerial) in Police Training School, Moradabad informed the police control room that his son Aditya (30) had killed his mother Babita Rani (57) with a metal rod at their residence in Bhagirathi Enclave, Balbir Road. The police reached the residence in question where the accused was also arrested by the police. The iron rod used in the murder was also seized by the police. Official sources said that Singh informed the police that his son was not mentally fit. The Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh and other senior officials also reached the scene of the crime and collected information about the incident. On the basis of the complaint made by Singh, the police have registered a murder case in Dalanwala police station. The accused has been arrested and the rod used in the murder has been seized. Further action is being taken in the case as per the rules, the police said.
