The vice-president of the Uttarakhand State Sports Council, Hemraj Singh Bisht urged all the sports officers to extend sports activities to the remote regions of Uttarakhand while addressing the Sports Directorate officials and District Sports Officers (DSOs) here on Tuesday.

Notably, the meeting was convened to discuss strategies for effectively implementing the Sports department’s schemes across the State as well as the integration of new technology to enhance participation and development in sports.

During the meeting, Bisht said that extension of sports activities into the remote regions of Uttarakhand was needed to globally elevate the State’s status in the realm of sports. “This initiative aligns with the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s vision for Uttarakhand emerging with a unique identity on both national and regional fronts in sports,” he said.

Bisht reassured the officers of his constant availability to support the growth of sports and the encouragement of athletes, emphasising that any officer could seek his assistance at any time for sports development.

Several officials, including the sports director Prashant Arya, were present at the meeting.
