Commitment without alternative mantra of success – CM Dhami

The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami declared the state level Khel Mahakumbh 2021 open at the Raipur sports college here on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion the CM said that the sports play a major role in inculcating discipline, perseverance and time management among the players.  Exhorting the sportsmen, the CM said that they should have a commitment without any alternative to succeed. On the occasion the CM declared that all the players would be provided facilities in accordance to the New Sports Policy. He said that the per day allowance of the PRD workers would be increased by Rs 70 per day. He said that the PRD workers would be brought under social security cover and a sum of Rs 2 lakh would be provided to the next of kin in case of death of PRD worker. The CM said that the PRD workers would be given work for 300 days in a year.

Dhami exuded confidence that Uttarakhand would become a sporting power in the times to come. On a stern note Dhami directed the sports secretary to submit the quality check report of all the construction works conducted recently. He said that strict action would be taken against those who are found involved in poor quality of construction works.

In the Khel Maha Kumbh 12 sporting events would be held in three disciplines (Under 14, Under 17 and Under 21) in Male and Female categories. The CM also handed over state level Vivekanand Youth Awards 2021 on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion the sports minister Arvind Pandey said that the Khel Mahakumbh is providing a new platform to the players. He said talent from village to state level is being searched for grooming them further. Pandey expressed his gratitude  to CM Dhami for the New Sports Policy.

The sports secretary Deependra Chaudhary, director sports G S Rawat, officers of Sports, youth welfare and PRD and others were present on the occasion.
