Heavy to very heavy rains likely in parts of remaining districts

The State meteorological centre has issued a red alert regarding the possibility of very heavy to extremely heavy rain at isolated places and heavy to very heavy rain at a few places likely to occur in Dehradun, Haridwar, Tehri and Pauri districts on Sunday. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and intense/very intense spells are likely to occur at isolated places in the State today. The centre has also issued an alert regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in the remaining districts of the State. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and intense/very intense spells are also likely to occur at isolated places in the State today.

Further, light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at most places in the State’s districts.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience partly to generally cloudy skies. One or two spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur which may be intense in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 32 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Saturday were 32.5 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 30.4 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 21 degrees Celsius and 14.9 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar, 23.9 degrees Celsius and 18.8 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. There was light to moderate rain in various parts of the State on Saturday with 19 millimetres in Thalisain, 16.5 millimetres in Kotdwar and 10.5 millimetres in Lansdowne.
