Chief secretary Sandhu reviews vibrant village scheme

 The chief secretary SS Sandhu has directed all the departments of the State administration to work in coordination with one another to revive the vibrant village scheme. The CS chaired a meeting of different departments at the secretariat on Friday on the vibrant village scheme. In the meeting, he directed the officers to prepare proposals on the vibrant villages and send them to the government of India. 

The CS said that the proposals highlighting the tourism potential of the vibrant villages should be prepared. He said that the consultants should visit all these villages with the district tourism officer to find ways for realising their tourism potential. Sandhu directed the culture department to organise programmes of famous cultural troupes in the vibrant villages.

He suggested that the allowances of the cultural groups visiting vibrant villages can be increased in view of the fact that they are located in remote and faraway places. It will help in encouraging the artist to visit these villages, he said.

 The meeting was attended by secretary Radhika Jha, AS Hyanki, Sachin Kurve, Pankaj Kumar Pandey and additional secretary V K Jogdande.
