The Dehradun district magistrate Sonika held a district level task force committee meeting on Tuesday. She directed the members of the committee to run a campaign against child labour and child begging across the district and asked to make proper arrangements to ensure that children rescued from child labour and begging are given given education as well as skill development trainings to ensure they can earn their livelihood.
The committee must ensure that the children and their parents receive proper professional counselling. The officials concerned should put their best efforts in sending these rescued children back to their homes, especially those who belong to other states. The DM directed the chief development officer (CDO) Jharna Kamthan to make a proper plan to execute the said strategies properly. The officials from various departments including police, social welfare and child welfare were also present in the meeting.
