The Dehradun district magistrate R Rajesh Kumar has ordered the officials of the municipal body of Mussoorie, the Forest department and Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) to work in coordination with each other to mark suitable parking places to improve parking and traffic conditions in the area.

The officials from the forest department informed the DM that surveys of the notified sites are being conducted through the Survey of India (SOI). The department has sent the maps of 167 sites out of a total of 218 surveyed sites while the work is being done on the remaining sites. The DM directed the department to speed up the process and asked to call SOI officials in the next meeting. He also directed the forest department, MDDA and municipal body to work in coordination with each other to mark parking places in Mussoorie as parking becomes a serious issue during peak tourism season and causes traffic congestion.
