DM and SSP check arrangements ahead President’s arrival

In view of the scheduled arrival of President Ram Nath Kovind to Haridwar on November 28 and 29, the District Magistrate (DM) Vinay Shankar Pandey and senior superintendent of police (SSP) Yogendra Singh Rawat visited Patanjali University to review the security arrangements on Friday. All the officials and the departments concerned are preparing for the arrival of the president for his two-day visit to Haridwar.

The DM and the SSP also held a meeting with the Patanjali administration to discuss the arrangements. The SSP (Intelligence and Security) Nivedita Kukreti also instructed the officials of the Public Works Department (PWD) to make proper arrangements at the helipad and clear the bushes. The helicopters were also landed twice on the helipad located at Patanjali Yogpeeth to test the landing arrangements.

The SSP also directed the officials concerned to ensure the proper arrangements for the security of the basement of the building along with the compliance of Covid-19 protocol. The district supply officer (DSO) KK Aggarwal is the incharge of the food served to the President and other dignitaries. The administration has also allotted eight employees to DSO and issued passes to them to ensure the proper arrangements. On the other hand, the Municipal Corporation of Haridwar (MCH) has also formed 10 teams to maintain cleanliness during the arrival of the president.
