Disaster training for students held at 2 institutions

In latest news from Uttarakhand, under the district magistrate’s initiative of organising a month-long disaster training series at educational institutions across Uttarkashi district,   a one-day disaster/quick search training programme was held at Government Inter College Baun Panjiyala and Government Junior High School Baun under the development block Dunda. The organisers said that organised under the aegis of District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Uttarkashi, it was conducted principally by DDMA and SDRF. The objective of the programme was to train the students in how to combat disaster scenario and 146 students and staff members received training. During the training, information was imparted to the participants on earthquake, landslide, flash flood and forest fire among others. Among those present at the programme were the principal of Government Inter College Baun Panjiala Vikram Chandra Joshi and the principal of Government Junior High School Baun Meena Semwal.
