In latest news from Uttarakhand, a few hours after the BJP MLA from Purola in Uttarkashi district Durgeshwar Lal had staged a sit-in at the residence of the State cabinet minister Subodh Uniyal while alleging that development works in his constituency were being hindered at the behest of the State forest minister, he chose to close the matter with apology to the minister. While expressing regret over what he had said about the minister, the MLA said that Uniyal was like his father. To recall, the MLA even met the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and apprised him of what had happened. With the BJP having already sounded the bugle for the general elections a few months away, the State party brass took a serious note of the matter. To prevent the matter from escalating into a full-blown row, the State party chief Mahendra Bhatt reportedly called up Uniyal and asked him to exercise restraint while speaking. Besides, as per the party sources, Bhatt had proddded Lal to close the matter through offering an apology to the minister.
