Dhami at CMs’ conclave- U’khand promoting home stays

Says more than 8,000 employment opportunities have been created under home stay scheme

The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the state government is focussing on Home Stay scheme to provide self employment opportunities, develop new tourist destinations, to acquaint tourists with culture of the state and to stop migration.

He was delivering a presentation on ‘Home Stay’ during the conclave of the BJP ruled states in Varanasi on Tuesday. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over the conclave.

In the conclave home stay was the subject of a presentation on its best practices by Uttarakhand. Dhami said that the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya scheme and Trekking traction center grant schemes are being operated in the state for home stays.

He informed that in Deen Dayal Upadhyaya scheme capital assistance upto Rs 15 lakh and interest assistance up to 1.5 lakh is given to applicant.  The CM said that more than 3,700 home stays have registered under home stay scheme and economic assistance of Rs 14.53 Crore has so far been given under it. He claimed that more than 8,000 employment opportunities have been created under the home stay scheme. He said that the government is providing grading facilities to the Home stay operators for developing tourism infrastructure, free training, free participation on travel mart and for participation and quality determination. Dhami informed that under the Trekking traction scheme financial assistance is provided in border areas to promote mountaineering activities. Under the scheme a grant of Rs 3.20 crore has been given to 120 beneficiaries till October 2021.

In the Good governance conference presentation on Atal Ayushman Yojana (AAY), Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Rural and Urban, PM Street vendor Atmanirbhar fund scheme and Swamitva Yojana. It was informed that under AAY health cards have been distributed to 45.22 lakh beneficiaries and the claim disbursement is being made within a week to the hospitals.

Under PM Awas Yojna (PMAY) -( rural) a total of 12,662 beneficiaries were selected out of whom construction of 12,427 houses has been completed. In the phase II state has got a target to construct 16,472 houses. In the PM Awas Yojna ( urban) the grant is being transferred through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) and Geo Tagging of the houses is being done. Construction of 3802 houses under BLC, 13,287 under CLSS and 464 houses under AHP has been completed under this scheme. The government has given the facility of free land use change under the scheme.

The state government has made arrangements to transfer 50 square meter of Nuzul land to the beneficiary of PMAY.  It was informed that under the PM street vendor scheme 10,101 applicants out of 11,543 have got the benefit of the scheme. Under it additional exemption of two per cent in interest is given to the beneficiary and the stamp duty is being waived off. Under Swamitva Scheme 1,02,291 land records of 2,409 villages have been prepared and out of them 98,236 records have been distributed.  The survey work in the Pauri, Udham Singh Nagar, Haridwar and Dehradun districts has been completed under the scheme while work is in progress in remaining districts of the state.
