Devasthanam Board rollback due to fear of electoral defeat- AAP

Wednesday, 01 December 2021 | PNS | Dehradun

Fear of losing in the 2022 state assembly elections has forced chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to announce the decision to repeal the Char Dham Devasthanam Board Management Act rather than the sentiments of priests. This was stated by the state in-charge of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on CM’s decision of bill withdrawal on Tuesday. He said that the priests relentlessly protested against the state government and even wrote letters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi with their blood about the infringement of their rights through the establishment of the board but the government did not care to respond at that time.

Now they have announced to repeal the act in fear of losing votes in the elections next year, added Mohaniya. He said that the public should not believe in BJP as it can repeat the same thing if it comes to power in 2022 again. He added that the government should also apologise to priests and the public for the trouble caused due to the formation of the board.
