Despite pandemic, industrial units worth Rs 15,000 crore came up in U’khand – CM

Says the investors have given a new dimension to the State in industrial sector

 Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that production in projects worth Rs 15,000 crore has started in the industrial units of the State established in the State from January 2020 till date which is a major feat considering the pandemic of Covid 19.

He was addressing the Uttarakhand investor felicitation ceremony at his camp office on Tuesday. Dhami said that the investors have given a new dimension to the State in the industrial sector and all of them are the brand ambassadors of Uttarakhand. The CM said that Uttarakhand, the land of Yoga, Ayush and spiritualism is moving at a fast pace on the path of industrial development. Claiming that a lot of work on infrastructure development, policy reforms and simplification has occurred in the State, the CM said that we are moving forward with the mantra of ‘reform, perform and transform’. He said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a special affection towards Uttarakhand and it is reflecting in the development of the State. He said work on a fast pace is going on for construction of good roads, rail and air connectivity essential for attracting industries.

Speaking on the occasion the Industries minister Chandan Ram Dass said that the positive effects of the investors’ meet held in the State under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi are clearly visible in Uttarakhand. He said that small and medium industrial units should be promoted in the mountainous areas of the state.

Cabinet minister Ganesh Joshi said that Uttarakhand is fast emerging as a favoured destination for investments. He said that the micro, small and medium industries sector can create good employment and production with less capital investment.

In the programme it was stated that the Memoranda of Understanding worth Rs 1.24 lakh crore were signed in the first investors summit held in Dehradun in the year 2018 and out of them projects worth Rs 35,000 crore have been grounded.

 In the programme the entrepreneurs who started production after 2020 were invited and felicitated. Acharya Balkrishna, Industries  secretary Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Industries commissioner Rohit Meena, Industries director SC Nautiyal and others were present in the programme.
