Defence Minister Rajnath Singh arrives on two-day U’khand visit

He will celebrate Dussehra with soldiers at a forward post on Indo-China border

The Defence minister Rajnath Singh arrived in Dehradun airport on Tuesday evening for his two-day visit to Uttarakhand. He is slated to spend Dussehra with soldiers on the Indo-China border in the State.

 At the airport he was welcomed by the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and the Bharatiya Janata Party State president  Mahendra Bhatt. From the airport Singh boarded a chopper to arrive at the GST helipad in Dehradun cantonment. In Dehradun the Defence minister is scheduled to attend a programme of the army in the cantonment and stay the night at the army’s guest house in Garhi cantonment.

Rajnath Singh would visit the Badrinath shrine on Wednesday morning where he would offer prayers to the lord. After Badrinath the Defence minister would visit the Ratakon post of the Indian Army along the Indo-China border. This post is located near Mana in Chamoli district. Singh would celebrate the Dussehra festival with the army jawans in Ratakon. He would also do the traditional ‘Shastra Pujan’ with the armed forces personnel on the occasion of Dussehra.
