The audition of cultural troupes from Kumaon began at the information directorate here on Monday. On the first day of the auditions which will continue till January 7, a total of 17 troupes from Udham Singh Nagar auditioned in front of officials. Troupes from Pithoragarh and Champawat district will audition on Tuesday followed by troupes from Bageshwar on January 5, troupes from Almora on January 6 and troupes from Nainital district on January 7.
Members of the panel, information director general Ranvir Singh Chauhan, folk singer Narendra Singh Negi, Padma Shri recipient Leeladhar Jaguri, additional director of information, Anil Chandola and others were also present on the occasion.
